Free history tour – CAC

During these tours we invite you to learn about the historical memories of the Contemporary Art Center, one of the buildings with the greatest andean neoclassical architecture style in Quito. Our historic tours can be a great way to share the history of our city through this heritage building that used to be a sanatorium, military barracks, a military hospital and artists studios. In addition, you can visit «Sala del Barrio», a place dedicated to the collective memory and relationships with the San Juan neighborhood. Who is this tour for? Anyone with an interest in contemporary art and Quito and its history, the whole family, an art or history buff, or even those who want to improve their english. Will I need any equipment or materials for this tour? None, but comfortable walking shoes are advisable.
